A Poem for Our Baby

Dear little baby, our precious child,
Do you know how loved you are?
There are so many unknowns about you
But it doesn't matter, cause you're ours.

The color of your eyes may still be a mystery
As well as the shade of your hair.
Will you have your daddy's smile
Or like mama, will your skin be fair?

We love to hear your heart beating,
And your kicks make stronger our faith.
Already your personality is shining through-
Such perseverance and such strength.

I wonder: will you be a graceful dancer
Or would you rather play outdoors?
Will your prefer the cold mountains
Or a summer at the shore?

Do you know you have a sister?
Who will guide you through fun and strife.
She doesn't know it yet,
But you will be a treasure throughout her life.

I hope you grow up and marry a sweet man,
And want babies just the same.
Only then will you truly know
What a blessing you are to my name.

One thing about you is certain,
And that one thing I need you to know:
You are a child of God, dear baby,
And His love for you is more than we could ever bestow.

So whether He gives you to us a while longer
Or takes you home immediately,
Please know you are always loved and protected,
Safe in His arms for all eternity.

  2. Lee,
You dont know me but I feel like I know you on such a personal level by reading your blogs. I have no idea what you are going through but I want you to know I think and pray for you and your baby, and your family at least once a day. I work for your Uncle Steve at Oxford Dental Care and when he told me about you I became extremely intrested in what was happening to you. I must have asked Dr. Wooten everyday I saw him how you were doing and finaly he got tired of giving me the updates himself and gave me your website. I try to read it everyday and I cant imagine what your family has been going through. Im so blessed that my family has not had any of the storms that so many Christians have gone through. I know one day something will happen to test my faith and I hope I remember your courage and faith in God in what seems impossible and remeber God got you through it so I can go through anything. There is nothing to hard out there that I cant stand firm with my Lord and face because you have been an example for me. With tears running down my face as I wright this I cant tell you what an example you are to me. I have no idea what you are going through but the fact that you are so strong in you faith is so encouraging!

    With much love and prayer,

    Samantha Baldwin
